Makeup Looks: Armani Privé Couture 2010

The inspiration behind the Armani Privé Fall 2010 Couture collection was definitely the 70’s with the gold/amber smoked eyes, nude frosted (mildly) lip and the bouncy cover girl hair reminiscent of Studio 54.

To get the look, makeup artist extraordinaire, Linda Cantello used several Giorgio Armani beauty products to achieve the looks above.

Giorgio Armani Maestro Eye Shadow Quad in 03 Earth and Maestro Eye Shadow in No. 3 and No. 18.

To achieve the look, Cantello dipped a wet brush into the Maestro Eye Shadow No. 3 (goldy amber)and swept the color all over the lids.  She used the Maestro Eye Shadow No. 18 (charcoal) on the outer corners and Armani Fluid Sheer No. 2 Shimmering Beige (not shown) on the lips and as a highlighted down the nose and cheeks.

Fall Nails: Zoya Wonderful Collection 2010

Your nails can be quite the fashion accessory! Just like lipstick, you have the ability to change the mood of your look with a great nail color.  With Fall around the corner (and not too soon), beauty companies are hitting beauty fanatics hard with nail colors in shades of red, wine, deep cranberry, deep violet grays, sparkling green/blues, etc.

Zoya, the “good for your nails” product, has released their fall 2010 collection called “Wonderful.”  The standout shade in this round up of creams is Cola.  A beautiful shade somewhere between a chocolate and a Bordeaux.  Cola is definitely a versatile shade that will compliment a multitude of skin tones.

With record heat temperatures hitting all time highs this summer, the last thing you want to do is douse yourself in heavy scents.  Solid perfumes are a great alternative to wearing your favorite fragrances.  More personal, you can place these scents exactly wear you want them.  Solid fragrances are very portable.  So when you want to smell nice for a summer evening out, you can throw this in your favorite clutch and go.

    Laura Mercier New Lip Pencils

Lip pencils were made, primarily, to hold your lipstick in place to keep it from feathering into the small lines around the mouth.  Now, lip pencils are used in a multitude of ways, so you can do a lot with a little.  Laura Mercier has revamped her collection of lip pencils to include six new colors, plus an “anti-feather” that’s clear to hold your lip color in place without changing the color of your lipstick.  Great product for color purists!

Things you can do with lip liner:

    1.  Line and fill lips with the lip pencil.  Apply your favorite color on top of the lip pencil for longer lasting color.

    2. Use lip pencils to make your lip color lighter or darker by lining with the desired lip pencil shade.  Apply lipstick or lip gloss in the middle of the lip and blend into the lip pencil.  This technique will give you desired shade you’re looking for.

    3. Fill in lips with your favorite lip pencil. Top off with a gloss for your own custom shade.

    Summer Beauty: Modern Smoky Eyes

Even in warm temperatures, the smoky eye is still a "go-to" beauty look for a bit of an edge. Not just for night, smoky eyes can work for day, too. It's all in the placement of the color. At Giorgio Armani S/S RTW 2010, smoky was the beauty look to accompany the jovial line of succulent blues, reds and fuchsias. Get the look simply with the Giorgio Armani Beauty Nude Contrasts Palette For Eyes. Stripes of champagne, white, sky blue, and black shadow are enough to create the look you want.

Fall 2010 Makeup: Nars Fall 2010

“I love Daphne — she has incredible style,”. “She fits the image of the brand so well. She’s very creative and elegant and is a chameleon. And she really loves makeup — the whole process of it. Any makeup artist dreams of having someone like that as a muse.”

MAC Trend Fall 2010: Redd Velvet

REWORKING THE CLASSICS, and none more so than the red lip is a major idea this season. Looking back to forever gorgeous stalwarts like the crimson mouth, giving it a contemporary edge is an art in itself, and one that Artists absorbed themselves in the challenge for. Tweaking the texture, shifting the traditional shape, amplifying or turning down the density or tone: what started off as past has been swiftly brought back into the present. It’s the ultimate perennial lip colour, but this season’s red is about taking a formal shade and wearing it in an informal manner. So while a red mouth inevitably smacks of a certain luxury and strength, its impact this time around is one of modern perfection rather than exaggeration or aggressive sexuality…

“Couture. Seductive. Rockabilly. Chic. Gothic. Lady Red has so many personalities.”
    ARTIST: Tery Barber

“There’s a Charlotte Rampling-esque quality to it – strong yet elegant.”
